The last sport watch you’ll ever need to buy.
This review refers to the Model 2218.50, XL version (45 mm case) with steel bracelet. The opinions of the movement, adjustment and reliability are also applicable to the model with rubber strap and leather / lizard strap.
This is a hefty timepiece, it weighs 9+ ounces (over half a pound), it feels and exudes quality and is bound to illicit a glance and a double take. The domed double anti glare sapphire crystal is super sharp and sometimes hard to determine it is even there.
The exterior is a combination of brushed and polished stainless steel, most notably the trademark Omega horns are this blended finish.
The screw down crown is adorned with the Omega logo and easy to open, the first position enables manual winding for a power boost, the helium escape valve at 10:00 is adorned with the periodic symbol “He”.
Clockwise turns of the crown in second position adjusts the date forward, the date can’t be adjusted backwards. Time adjustment is easy and rapid; no adjustment for seconds is available.
The unidirectional bezel rotates counter clockwise 120 clicks and lines up perfectly with every second marker, the solid feel of the rotation is nothing less than you’d expect from an Omega.
The luminescent material of this watch is a glow magnet, just a few seconds exposure to sunlight or held close to a lamp will turn the face of this watch into a lighthouse! Combined with the chrome and split bezel hands of the subdials and this timepiece can be used as a signal mirror for low flying aircraft.
The Omega 3313 movement is identical to their 3303 movement except the 3313 has the co-axial escapement, this is the same movement inside the Omega DeVille and will be used in future models.
The accuracy of this watch is only surpassed by my Omega SeaMaster Quartz 300 2221.80, my Quartz Omega never loses or gains a second and the PO gains less than 5 seconds a week. The days I don’t wear it, I spend 60 seconds winding it and store it standing vertically for optimum movement.
The bracelet includes the scuba extension of all SeaMasters, but has no convenience pins for rapid adjustment or for bodily weight fluctuation. It releases easily with the double release pins and feels confidently closed when clasped.
I’ve performed testing of the power reserve, it continues to function about 43 hours with a full wind.
The watch can also function with a running chronograph for over 40 hours on a full wind, that is impressive.
Overall, I’d recommend this watch for anyone who wants an exquisite sport timepiece which isn’t out of place at a formal, like all of the Omegas made before it; I expect this watch to endure for my grandchildren and their grandchildren.

I’ve had this watch for about a month now, and have worn it most days. I own a number of chronographs, and this is certainly one of the best.
It uses a Piguet movement which, according to several sources, is unique to this watch these days. (Not sure I believe that – - I think it may be used in Blancpain chronos as well; that’s where it was first used) The chronograph start is absolutely smooth, and the reset is very gentle, quite unlike the “thud” of the reset on the Valjoux 7750 series movements.
The accuracy of the movement is exceptional – about 1.5 sec/fast per day over the one month period I’ve had it. Fit and finish of the case, dial and hands is flawless, and the size of the the watch is just about perfect. My only complaint is that the links in the band are a bit large, so you are not able to make fine adjustments in sizing. Not a significant problem, but something to keep in mind if you’re finicky about exact sizing.
I have a lot of watches in all price ranges, and this really is an exceptional value in an everyday wearing sports watch.

What is the cure for lazy eye?

The eye will return to its center place in the eye socket which will give your brain two parallel pictures to fuse together. As the ophthalmologist William Bates found, in order to cure lazy eye you need to make the squint worse. If you have one eye that’s pointing inward then you need to actively increase this inward looking by focusing at the tip of your nose.
If you have an eye pointing outward then you need to increase it by actively looking outward. This is a bit more difficult but it can be done with a little bit of practice.
The key is to increase the squint actively as this exercises the muscles of the eye and relieves the strain.
There are more techniques you can use to relieve the strain. One of these are the visualization of black velvet when you close your eyes. This will help to relieve any strain that you have in your eyes.
Another is the palming technique were you place your palms over your eyes and just relax. The strain is resolved once the eyes learn how to relax.

I have a much earlier version of this watch — about 25 years earlier. So why am I writing this review? Simply put, when someone creates a truly classic, high quality design, it is timeless. After 25 years, this watch has never failed. The case and bracelet have their little scratches — I just call that “patina.” Otherwise it looks good as new. Call this a “long-term ownership” review.
I do not know if the features of my watch are the same as the newer one, but here are my Pros and Cons:
PROS:
1. Timeless design as indicated above.
2. Reliability.
3. The hour hand can be adjusted without disturbing the minute and second hands — useful for traveling
and DST changes. (This is done via a three position stem.)
4. As I recall, the time accuracy spec for my watch is +/- 10 seconds per year. Mine normally holds 7-10
seconds for the life of its battery which is about 2.5 years.
5. It is thin enough to not interfere with cuffs on long sleeve shirts.
CONS:
1. None.
By the way, it is satisfying to see that the watch which listed at 0 when I bought it now lists for around 00.
I would recommend this watch to anyone looking for one in this price range.
